Here are some of the backstage photos from Armani Privé’s S/S 2010 collection which was shown in Paris yesterday. I like it a lot – especially the dress with the round plastic bag (in lack of a better description) around it.

I love how these photographs are so dynamical and strong, yet so soft - it truly makes me smile! They have a certain ‘underwater-energy’ about them which I am really fond of.

Here are the draped pieces from Givenchy’s S/S-10 collection I promised to post earlier. Nice, huh?

I found Givenchy’s S/S-10 collection a tiny bit confusing. Clean-cut and drapery? (I just realised I haven’t accutally included a picture of one of their full drapery dresses – I might post one later today if I remember).

Although I don’t love this slightly confusing combination (though I DO love the hats!), I don’t hate it either. I like it – that’s the way to put it.

Chloe’s Autumn/Winter 09 campaign was criticised by many on the grounds of it being too polished and fake – that the models had been made unrecognisable through excessive use of Photoshop. Their newly published Spring/Summer -10 campaign has now also been criticised across global fashion forums – it is “boring”.

Yes, it is a studio shot. Yes, it is classic. It is simple. And commercial.  And no, it might not be that innovative. However, I must say I absolutely love the campaign. This ‘boring’ ad, with its soft colours and crisp tailoring, represent what Chloé is all about, and it is in my opinion not boringness.

Any thoughts?

I still like dressing in nude colours. Only now I say I dress in “oatmeal colours” - I am so very tired of the word nude now.  It has become such a cliché to say that you “pair a nude outfit with a black leather shoes (or something rather) to roughen it up” that is makes me cringe. I would in fact not have been surprised if someone told me that the four letters forming the word N – U – D – E is on the top five list of most commonly used words in any fashion magazine or blog for 2009. So here’s to oatmeal and the wonderful colour – whatever you may refer to it as!

I would be so very happy strolling around with this Givenchy headband. My hair blowing in the wind, a jazzy soundtrack and sunshine all around. Such a weirdo fantasy – I know.

It is incredible how much the accessories (including the Diet Coke. I wonder if it was intentional to carry around a can of fizzy drink which actually matches the clothes perfectly) does for this outfit. The clothes themselves have a bit of a yawn-factor, but with the piles of jewelry; not so.

Jewelry is such a good way of breaking the jeans-and-tee-bubble many find themselves an inhabitant of on a typical Monday (or Tuesday, or Wednesday..), and combining fake with real has never looked better. On Monday, I will definitely be adding an additional few items to my standard “watch and ring”-uniform!

How can you not want these rose bras from Sonia Rykiel pour H&M? I am going to buy one of each to wrap up under the Christmas tree; one for my mum and one for myself. And hopefully she will not read this.

I really love the richness of the ad campaign. The lilac combined with black, the luxurious feel of silk, chiffon and velvet. The big, curly hair and last but not least the underwear itself. Very grand, indeed –  I wonder how H&M will be able to top this one!

This is my new art textiles project. My final one before the exam project this summer! The top sketch was my initial idea, but I have developed it into the - what shall I say – round thing below. I now I wish I hadn’t.  After spending the day trying to hunt down two round pieces of foam, I realise why I’ve never seen them before – there simply aren’t any around.. 

I am really excited about this new project. As the piece has to develop from our previous one, I will make a sculptural and sharp piece – this time using sharply cut pieces of children’s sandboxes in the colours of the British flag. We get extra marks for linking our pieces to ‘current issues’, so I will link mine to the young British soldiers loosing their lives in Afghanistan. Sharp pieces – a child wearing it for the photoshoot – british flag.. get it?
